Depending on the time of year you may have a chance of witnessing the migration in one or both areas as you are in a prime location for a famous river crossing. Driving between the Masai Mara and the Serengeti is long and tiring and leaves you with little time to do any actual wildlife viewing, so to make the most of visiting these areas you have to fly-in.

Arrive in Nairobi and Fly to Masai Mara National Reserve
Upon arrival in Kenya, you will receive a warm welcome from a friendly representative who will escort you through immigration, customs and baggage collection. They will remain with you until you meet your driver in the arrivals area. You will then be transferred to the domestic airport where you’ll board a light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara. Upon arrival at the Masai Mara, you will be met by a representative and driven to your safari camp where you will stay for the next three nights. Basecamp Masai Mara is a simple camp situated on the Talek River surrounded by forest, so look out for the ample birdlife around you and the odd monkey. The safaris from here head into Masai Mara National Reserve. This can be one of the busier areas of the Mara but the wildlife is fantastic.

2&3 On safari in the Masai Mara
You have the next two full days to enjoy two game drives per day on the plains of the Masai Mara where you’ll spot an abundance of African wildlife. This iconic reserve offers amazing wildlife viewing opportunities and it’s highly likely that you’ll see zebra, impala, gazelle, wildebeest, buffalo, rhino and elephant, plus lions, cheetahs and leopards. During the months of August-November you have a chance of seeing the Great Migration in the Mara, however the movements of the herds change yearly and it is very hard to predict their whereabouts. Our travel specialists have first hand experience necessary to put you in the best place. In as well as game drives, there are a range of other activities you can participate in during your time in the Masai Mara. These includes cultural visits to Maasai villages and markets, guided bush walks or you may wish to take an early morning hot air balloon flight over the plains and forests of the Masai Mara. These can be added at an extra cost. Fly to the Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight across the border into Tanzania and to the Serengeti. Some operators may suggest driving this leg, however this makes for a very, very long day and completely writes off any chance of wildlife viewing as you have to spend the whole time on the road. To make the most of a short time on safari a flight is definitely the best option. Your accommodation for the next two nights is Lemala Kuria Hills, a tented lodge in northern Serengeti. This part of the Serengeti is much less visited than other areas and it has fantastic year round wildlife, as well as a chance of seeing the Great Migration between July and September and possibly November. Main Destination: Northern Serengeti National Park

On safari in Northern Reaches of the Serengeti
The Serengeti offers some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa. You'll enjoy two shared game drives a day from Lemala Kuria Hills. Every year, over two million wildebeest and zebra migrate north from Serengeti National Park to the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. The herds must brave the perilous Mara River, which runs through the Masai Mara on the Kenyan side and Serengeti on the Tanzanian side. They face treacherous water currents and dangerous predators as they cross the river in search of greener pastures. With crocodiles lurking in the muddy waters and lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas patrolling the river banks, this is a particularly dangerous time to be a wildebeest or a zebra. Main Destination: Northern Serengeti National Park Accommodation: Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge Luxury lodge located inside Northern Serengeti Meals & Drinks: All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
